Publié le 30 Avril 2026

Information

Video published by Great Big Story interviewing Yukio Kasai (deputy mayor)

In the village of Inakadate, where the main activity is rice farming, rice farmers have become artists. To increase tourism in the village, they decided to use 7 types of rice plants to create images in their fields.

Using a small piece of software, they converted 7-color drawings into planting diagrams.

Today, this rice-field art has fully earned its place in Japanese culture and becomes more precise each year.
