Japanese earthquake in March 2011

Publié le 05 Mai 2026

Information

Video published by ANNnewsCH

In this terrible video from March 11, 2011, we can see an earthquake followed shortly afterward by a tsunami.

This video seems to have been filmed by a man sitting in an airport restaurant. While his wife, lying on the floor, protects their son, he films the scene for several minutes.

Manji svastika

Aside:
By the way, I notice a strange picture (visible at 1min 59s) with a Nazi swastika or something that looks very much like it....
After some research, it seems to be a swastika, also called "Manji", which reportedly has no connection with the Nazis, quite the opposite, as it represents peace and love.
The Japanese use this symbol to mark temple locations.
The Geospatial Information Authority of Japan decided in 2016 to have this symbol changed on all maps of the country to avoid confusion.
