A mountain of garbage in India

Publié le 04 Mai 2026

Information

Video published by South China Morning Post

This video denounces a major organizational problem in waste management in India. The Ghazipur landfill in New Delhi is an enormous mountain of accumulated waste, covering more than 240,000 m² with its highest point over 65 m. Every year this landfill grows exponentially.

The logical consequence of this absurd decision triggers all kinds of diseases among the residents living around this area. The substances poison the soil, and therefore the water, but also the air carried by the wind.
