How to simulate a traffic jam on Google Map to change city traffic?

Publié le 03 Mai 2026

Information

Video published by Simon Weckert

In this video, Simon Weckert hacks Google Map with a simple trick: he virtually generates a large number of cars on Google Map using 99 smartphones in a small cart.

The satellite detects 99 cars gathered in a small area and therefore considers that there is a huge traffic jam.

With this trick, it would be possible to change traffic, because Google Map usually redirects vehicles through a detour onto less busy streets when it detects a traffic jam.

It is pretty clever, but others should not start reproducing this scheme, or it could reduce the performance of Google Map navigation.
