So she puts her insane idea into practice, ties her grandson to the rope, lowers him to the neighbors' floor, he retrieves the cat in his backpack, and then she pulls him back up by hoisting the rope to her floor.

If the rope had snapped, or if the grandmother had become too tired, the child could have lost his life. Also, if the cat really refused to jump, even though it could easily handle that height, she could simply have called the fire department or found a ladder to retrieve her cat safely...
