A couple is peacefully flying in a small plane when suddenly the rear door is ejected and destroys part of the tail. Panicking, the two passengers make an emergency landing in a field and escape without the slightest scratch.

The pilot explained: "My wife and I were returning from Charlton Park to our home base at Fairoaks. 15 minutes after the start of the flight, the baggage hatch latch opened and the door detached from the piano hinge, catching a little of the leading edge of the horizontal stabilizer."
