My Plomb’Addict experience (Saint-Vincent-de-Tyrosse)

This company has good salaried plumbers; however, the management seems to overcharge without hesitation, undoubtedly dishonest.

 

More details:
 

I had my house built by Maison d’en France, which subcontracted all the plumbing to Plomb’aAddict (14 rue des metiers 40230 Saint-vincent-de-tyrosse).
 

In our contract with Maison d’en France, it was agreed that we would install the shower columns ourselves, but that everything needed to add the shower columns in our two bathrooms would be in place.

In short, our site manager advised us to do it this way, telling us that no plumbing knowledge would be needed; the installation would be ready to receive the shower columns, which would simply need to be connected to the two cold and hot water inlets.

A piece of cake, according to him.
 

So we installed the two shower columns, removed the cap from our cold and hot water inlets, then screwed the flexible hoses from our shower columns onto those pipes.

We still had to find a fitting to adjust the diameter because our shower column did not allow a direct connection, but that was no issue; it depended on our shower column, and we could not ask them to guess that.
 

However, we noticed a thin trickle of water behind the shower column, very slow but present.

So we removed the shower column to understand what was happening, but the trickle of water seemed to be coming directly from the wall, independently of the shower column.
 

We therefore contacted Plomb’addict to report the problem
 

Several months passed between the delivery of the house and Plomb’addict’s intervention, because in the meantime we had other issues and were not using the bathroom with the leak.

In addition, we became parents during that period, so we had not noticed this leak until more than three months later.
 

In any case, the plumber arrives; we had prepared everything before his arrival, he only had to observe the problem. After ten seconds in front of the leak, he tells us that it is completely normal… because the fittings in the wall, for the cold and hot water inlets, are actually "temporary".. with Teflon, which caused the leak..

Very surprised, I reply that it is strange to have delivered the house to us with temporary parts, since according to our agreement with Maison d’en France, everything was supposed to be ready to receive the shower column.
 

He tells me that this is their way of doing things and that is how it is

However, he says it is almost nothing, he has the fittings with him, and he will fix the problem in less than two minutes.

Indeed, he unscrews the temporary fittings, then adds almost identical fittings.

Then he leaves.

His intervention lasted about 4 minutes, watch in hand
 

Indeed, there was no more leak, but why not put the final fittings in directly?!? What was the point?...

In short, we did not look any further; we were happy that our shower no longer leaked.
 

A few days later, we received an 89-euro invoice from Plomb’addict for this intervention..
 

Shocked, I contact them to tell them that it is totally unjustified, but they do not want to hear it; 89 euros is the amount for any intervention, quick or not…
 

So not only do we pay the water bill because of this leak, but we also owe them 89 € for having installed temporary fittings unnecessarily.
 

Not to mention the customer relationship, which is totally pathetic and anti-commercial.
 

Despite rather nice plumbers, I do not recommend this dishonest company at all.
